May 5, 2026 – Hahaione Elementary School Traffic Awareness Event
On May 5, 2026, the Hawaii Kai Lions Club, Honolulu Police Department’s Community Affairs Division officers, and Hahaione Elementary School’s JPOs participated in a traffic awareness event at that school. From 7:15 – 8:00 a.m., they waved signs to promote safe driving practices; such as: “No texting while driving” and “Yield for pedestrians”. The JPOs also carried out their normal daily duties by stopping traffic for students to cross the streets. Many drivers acknowledged everyone’s efforts by waving back or giving a shaka sign.
