May 8, 2026 – Kamiloiki Elementary School’s Award Presentations
On May 8, 2026, three Hawaii Kai Lions participated in Kamiloiki Elementary School’s Sight is Beautiful and JPO Award Presentations. Sight is Beautiful award certificates and Long’s Drugs gift cards were given to those students in Kindergarten through Grade 5 for placing within the top four within their grade. Five of the 1st place winners from this school proceeded to the Zone for further judging, with three moving up to the District for statewide judging. One poster from Grade 2 won 3rd place ($50 prize) and one from Grade 5 won 2nd place ($75 prize, pictured above).
Thereafter, each individual JPO was recognized and given a certificate of appreciation, $25 Gyotaku gift certificate, and a $10 gift card from Hammond Ice Cream (donated by Hammond Ice Cream and the Hawaii Kai Lions Club).
What a wonderful experience for the students to showcase their artistic talent for the Sight is Beautiful contest and for the JPOs to be lauded for ensuring the safety of the students entering and exiting the school.
