May 22, 2026 – Hahaione Elementary School’s Recognition Assembly
On May 22, 2026, Hahaione Elementary School held their Awards and Recognition Assembly to recognize students for their outstanding achievements in various categories. A Hawaii Kai Lion was assisted by the school’s art teacher and JPO advisor to present the Hawaii Kai Lions Club’s awards and gift certificates to the Sight is Beautiful Poster Contest winners and the school’s hard-working JPOs.
Eight Sight is Beautiful winners used their artistic talents in envisioning the beauty of their gift of sight. They received Long’s gift certificates (donated by the Hawaii Kai Lions Club); $20 for 1st place and $15 for 2nd place.
Forty-two JPOs at Hahaione would come early and stay late every day to ensure the safety of all students. Each received $25 Gyotaku Restaurant gift certificates donated by Lion Tom Jones, and $10 gift certificates from Hammonds Gourmet Ice Cream (purchased by the Hawaii Kai Lions Club at a 50% discount).
