October 2, 2026 – Kamiloiki Elementary School’s Traffic Awareness Event
On October 2, 2026, eleven Hawaii Kai Lions participated in the traffic awareness sign waving event at Kamiloiki Elementary School from 7:15 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. Also participating were two HPD officers from District 7, and a dozen student council members and JPOs.
Participants stood on both sides of the street along Kamiloiki School and enthusiastically greeted cars and held signs urging drivers to stay alert and slow down for the safety of the kids. The students held handmade signs and HPD provided several signs; some of which said, “Drive Safely, Arrive Alive”, “Texting Can Wait” “No Need Speed” and “Drive With Aloha”.
It was a great opportunity for the Lions to support their local schools, our children and the Community Policing Team of District 7 East Honolulu.
