February 26, 2026 – Koko Head Elementary School’s Traffic Awareness Event

On the morning of February 26, 2026, fourteen enthusiastic Junior Police Officers from Koko Head Elementary School teamed up with four Honolulu Police Department officers and nine spirited Hawaii Kai Lions to spread some serious messages to drivers. Lining the sidewalk fronting the school, they held bright yellow signs reminding drivers to “Yield to Pedestrian,” Drive Safely Arrive Alive,” “Texting Can Wait”, or “Drive with Aloha”, while waving energetically to drivers. Every time a driver honked to acknowledge the messages, the JPOs erupted in cheers.
