July 21, 2026 – Camp Anuenue Mini-Carnival
On July 21, 2026, five Hawaii Kai Lions volunteered to assist at Camp Anuenue in Mokuleia. This is a week-long camp serving children and teens between the ages of 7 to 18 who have or have had cancer. The camp provides a supportive environment where young cancer patients and survivors can build friendships, gain confidence, and discover that cancer does not define their lives.
Lions’ clubs from Hawaii Kai, Manoa, Koko Head, Palolo, and Chinatown brought an extra excitement to the camp by organizing a mini-carnival as part of a Zone Project (which are projects done by multiple clubs within a specific geographic zone/area and led by a Zone Chairperson). The mini-carnival included a variety of skill games, including bowling, cornhole, ring toss, pong, and fishing; as well as a spin-the-wheel game and face painting. It was a rewarding morning for the Lion volunteers, who enjoyed watching the campers laugh, spend time with friends, and simply have fun being kids.
