June 30, 2026 – Adopt-A-Highway Clean Up
On June 30, 2026, eight Hawaii Kai Lions and one guest worked under sunny skies and a cool breeze to help keep our roadways and beaches clean. The targeted area focused across from the Koko Marina Shopping Center on Kalanianaole Highway and was expanded a bit since there were several volunteers who signed up. They filled 10 bags of trash and flagged 2 shopping carts, a bicycle, and an office trash can for pick up; even a dollar bill was found. Honks and shouts of appreciation from drivers were heard along the route as they drove past the hard-working volunteers.
The volunteers were thanked with drinks and snacks, after working tirelessly to clean up the highway.
