October 10, 2026 – Adopt-A-Highway

On October 10, 2026, four Hawaii Kai Lions, one companion-in-service (CIS), and two guest volunteers, worked efficiently under sunny skies to fill six bags of trash along Kalanianaole Highway in Hawaii Kai. As usual, the section across from Koko Marina Shopping Center needed the most attention, and one challenge was the tall grass growing on the side of the highway, which made picking out the trash more difficult.
Thank you to the Lions and guest volunteers for clearing this stretch of Kalanianaole Highway, where hundreds of residents and tourists drive by each day. Your hard work and dedication to making Hawaii Kai trash-free is much appreciated!
